The wide generation gap between Tess Coleman and her teenage daughter Anna is obvious in this story, just like the story in the novel we read. They simply cannot understand each other. On a Thursday night they have a big argument in a Chinese restaurant. Both got a fortune cookie each from the restaurant owner's mother which causes them to switch bodies next day. As they adjust with their new personalities, they begin to understand each other more and eventually it's the mutual self-respect that sorts the things out. 
this is what I can sum up about the movie.  Are we in the same boat as the characters in the stories?

To be fair, no one has ever pretended that parenting a teenager was going to be easy. Still, until your own kids reach that stage, it's tempting to believe your family will be immune to teen behavior problems. No, you tell yourself, your teenager will never talk back, stay out too late or pierce her eyebrow.

Dream on.

Teenagers are basically hard-wired to butt heads with their parents, says Stuart Goldman, MD, director of psychiatric education at Children's Hospital in Boston. "Adolescence is a time of rapid change for kids both physically and cognitively," he explains. "It's the task of the teenager to fire their parents and then re-hire them years later, but as consultants rather than managers."

But that doesn't mean you have to take it lying down. With the right approach, you can troubleshoot the following teen behavior problems in a relatively civilized fashion.

Teen Behavior Problem 1:

Your Teen Seems To Hate You

One minute your sweet child is begging you to come on the class trip or to lie down with her while she falls asleep. Then, seemingly overnight, she starts treating you like dirt, discounting everything you say and snickering at your suggestions. If you look closely, you'll see that you've been through this before, when she was a toddler -- only instead of shouting "no!" like a two-year-old would, a teenager simply rolls her eyes in disgust.

"It's so hard for parents when this happens," says Nadine Kaslow, PhD, a psychologist specializing in kids and families at Emory University in Atlanta. "But part of adolescence is about separating and individuating, and many kids need to reject their parents in order to find their own identities." Teens focus on their friends more than on their families, which is normal too.

Your Solution

Sometimes parents feel so hurt by their teens' treatment that they respond by returning the rejection -- which is a mistake. "Teenagers know that they still need their parents even if they can't admit it," says Goldman. "The roller-coaster they put you on is also the one they're feeling internally." As the parent, you need to stay calm and try to weather this teenage rebellion phase, which usually passes by the time a child is 16 or 17.

But no one's saying your teen should be allowed to be truly nasty or to curse at you; when this happens, you have to enforce basic behavior standards. One solution is the good, old-fashioned approach of: "If you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all." By letting your teenager know that you're here for him no matter what, you make it more likely that he'll let down his guard and confide in you once in a while, which is a rare treat.

Flash flood in several areas in KL

KUALA LUMPUR: Thousands of road users in the city centre were stuck in massive traffic jams after flash floods occurred in several areas, with Jalan Tun Razak closed for traffic since about 5.30pm.

Information received from the City Hall’s Integrated Transport Information System (ITIS) said all major roads leading out of and into the city centre are seeing major traffic crawl due to the wet weather.

 

Among the affected roads and highways were the Middle Ring-Road 1 (MRR1), Jalan Duta, Jalan Kuching, and Jalan Mahameru.

 

“Jalan Tun Razak at both sides have been closed to traffic since about 5.30pm after water started flowing into the road.

 

“The rain has stopped, and hopefully the flash flood will subside soon,” said an ITIS officer when contacted through its hotline.

 

The officer also said that Jalan Genting Klang was hit by a flashflood at an early stage of the heavy rain, but the water has subsided and the road is now clear for traffic.

 

Stormwater Management and Road Tunnel (SMART Tunnel) hotline when contacted said the tunnel was closed to traffic since 4.25pm to allow excess water to be channelled out of the city.

 

“We have re-opened the tunnel for traffic from the city centre heading to Cheras and Seremban, while the other side (leading into the city from Cheras and Seremban), is still closed,” said an officer.

 

Meanwhile, latest information received was that the flashflood that hit Jalan Tun Razak, said to be as deep as about one-metre earlier, has subsided to about 1 foot at about 7pm and is clear for traffic.

Flash flood in Jalan Salleh, Kampung Baru did not recede until 9.30pm today.

FLASHFLOOD IN KL...it becomes a common news now.Sometimes I just want to laugh at myself because in the rush to get development, we forget to look at the effect that we might have to face. I wonder what is going to happen to the cars taht are submerge in the water? Are they sold cheaply at the other places? What actually the authorities does to curb this problem as not to reoccur?

Maids in Malaysia - A1A

I read this article when I read the article about the kid being abused in NST. It frightening me, the cases seem so serious. I wonder what happened in the house that has maid. Place of Interest in Kelantan

Wat Phothivihan

In the outskirts of Kota Bharu, there is a number of Buddhist "Wats" (temples), which are reminders of the ancient Thai influence in the state. Wat Phothivihan is one fine example. Claimed to be one of the largest and most famous temples in Southeast Asia, Wat Phothivihan is situated in Kampung Jambu. The temple houses a 40m long, 11m high reclining Buddha statue. Built in 1973, it is believed to be the largest statue in the world.

Wat Uttamaram

This temple is one of the oldest and prettiest Thai temples in Kelantan. It is colorful, has fanciful flame-like upturned roof ridges, and an orange and green multi-tiered roof. Large dragons entwine the verandah columns. This wat is definitely a magnificent piece of building that is worth a visit.

Waterfalls

By far the most popular waterfall, Jeram Pasu is situated at Kampung Pak Amat and is accessible by car. A dip in the crystal clear icy water does wonders for the spirit. Another local favorite is Jeram Lenang. Although only 12m high, it can still draw quite a large crowd. The jewel of the crown, however, is Lata Beringin. At 120m, it is the highest waterfall in the country. At the base of the waterfall, one can dip into the pool, which has proven to be very rejuvenating. The awesome view and lush surroundings make this a favourite camping site. Other falls include Jeram Tapeh and Cherang Tuli.

Gua Musang

Gua Musang was actually named after the caves in the limestone outcrop that towers above the train station. "Musang" is a native civet cat that looks like a combination of a large cat and a possum, with long fur and a tail. Unfortunately, past hunters have killed most of these cave dwellers. It is possible to explore the caves, but a guide is recommended as the caves are very steep and the climb can be dangerous.

Beaches

Pantai Cahaya Bulan (PCB) was once known as the "Beach of Passionate Love". The name was then changed to the current name, which means the "Moonlight Beach". Located about 10km from Kota Bharu, its warm golden sands and crystal blue waters amidst tall and graceful palms encourages one to just lay on the sand and bask in the sun. It is a good place to visit on a sunny day.

Another option is Pantai Dasar Sabak. This is one beach with a strong history. On December 7, 1941, the Pacific Theatre of WWII commenced on the beach and Japanese troops stormed ashore, a full half-hour before Japan conquered Pearl Harbor. Today, the beach is a quaint fishing village where the traditional way of life still goes on.

Located about 25km from Kota Bharu, Pantai Irama (Beach of melody) is believed by some to be the most beautiful beach along the entire east coast. It offers white sandy beaches and crystal clear waters that make it an ideal place for camping, picnicking, or swimming.

At Pantai Bisikan Bayu (Beach of the Whispering Breeze), the crystal clear waters look cool and inviting! The beach offers a range of water sports, such as snorkeling, scuba diving, and not forgetting swimming. Fish lovers can also try their hand at angling. For those who are not water lovers, the beach offers rest areas with shades. They also make wonderful picnic spots. Also known as "Pantai Dalam Rhu", this beach is located approximately 50km away from Kota Bharu.

Other beaches include Pantai Seri Tujuh (Beach of Seven Lagoons) and Pantai Kuda (Horse Beach).

Are you the parent of a child who uses the internet or the parent of a child who will start using the internet soon?  If you are, you should know that the internet is a great way to stay up-to-date on the news, do research for school projects, and communicate with friends, but it can also be very dangerous.  As a parent, it is your responsibility to make sure that your child stays safe online.  Unfortunately, for this to happen you must know your way around a computer and the internet.  Do you?

A child should never know more than a parent does about the internet.  At the very least, you should know about the same.  If you are looking to block adult websites or websites that have offensive language, it will not do you any good if your teenager knows ways to get around the parental controls that you set.  That is why it is important that you know how to use a computer and the internet or learn if you don’t know.

This story tells us a question of possession in regard to a brand of horses, numbering nearly two hundred head. A man named Gray had settled in one of the northwest counties in Texas while it was yet the frontier, and by industry and economy of himself and family had established a comfortable home. As a ranchman he had raised the brand of horses in question. The history of this man is somewhat obscured before his coming to Texas. But it was known and admitted that he was a bankrupt.  He became the prime suspect when the horses started to lose.  The smart and brilliant judge managed to settle the problem by using his tricks.  How?? You need to read this to find out...
