Not All CABBIES are Baddies

"Despite the long hours and low income, there are many drivers who will not stoop to
 cheating their passengers"

Remember the word "snoop"??? now we have "stoop"???It sounds very similar but the meaning is so vast different. Let's look at the issue here. Normally public will look down at cabbies.. but read the statement I cite above, not all of them are bad people and in fact most of them always help the public. (A1)

I didn't agree with you just now...of course not all cabbies are bad but there are some of them who are not responsible. I myself have experienced this when I took a taxi in KL...I was being cheated. No meter used and the cabbie insists that I have to pay what he said.It is such a disgusting act.

    1. A3.... A2, many have the experience like you have. If you read in the article, it states that some of the cabbies are try to cover the living cost in big towns. They have to pay for the daily rent and also petrol, and with the commuter and trens now, it is hard for them to get customers.

    2. A5 But not all , I think only some of them, a small number that affect the whole cabbies. "Customers"???? Or is it better to use "passengers"?

    1. A2: Agree with you, some of the words use in this article are interesting. I rarely use them but when I read the article, I can guess the meaning. I jot down in my vocab book.

  3. A5: I remember when I go to KL last time, what I am impressed is that the taxi driver are fluent in English. Wow, in KB we never will meet this but in KL, english become their first language. And they are well behaved too. I say they because we use more than one taxi okay.

  4. A1 > when I read about that cabbie who has to support the special child and had to wait for hours to get a passenger, I think I understand why some of them do not want to use metre but this pakcik is nice, he neve cheats the passengers.

  5. A5...in a bunch of bananas, not all are rotten, I would say it is not easy to have a nice cabbie as pakcik.
